Numbers 27:15-17 New International Version (NIV)
15 Moses said to the Lord, 16 “May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community 17 to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
Moses asked God to put a leader into place who would be capable of directing internal and external affairs. This leader had to be able to lead them in battle and would also care for the needs of the people. The Lord responded by appointing Joshua. When you have a need, do you ask God for direction? Take time to make God a priority in your life and to go to him for direction. He will never steer you wrong.
