Exodus 3:1 New International Version (NIV)
Moses and the Burning Bush
3 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.
Moses now had a very different life than when he was in Egypt. He was a shepherd, and had to do everything for himself. He was holding the very job that when in Egypt he was taught to despise. This may have been a very humbling experience for him, but God was preparing Moses for leadership. As he lived the life of a shepherd, he would be a nomad moving from place to place. As he did this, he learned about the ways of his people and how to survive in the wilderness. Are you in a training phase of your life? Is God trying to teach you something about yourself? If you are going through something that you do not understand, look for the teachable moments that you can experience. Many times we do not appreciate the the lessons as we go through them, so look for what God is getting you ready to do.
