14 Then Rachel and Leah replied, “Do we still have any share in the inheritance of our father’s estate? 15 Does he not regard us as foreigners? Not only has he sold us, but he has used up what was paid for us.
Leaving home was not difficult for Rachel and Leah. Their father had not treated them well. They did not receive the benefits of the dowry Jacob paid for them as was the custom. Leban kept it from them. Rachel and Leah knew they would never inherit anything from their father, so they approved of Jacob taking the wealth that he had gained and leave. You have to know when to walk away from unhealthy or unsafe relationships. Look to God for guidance and read his word daily, and you will have wisdom and understanding to know what is best.
