Proverbs 3:3-8 (NASB)’Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones. ‘
I’m in a Proverbs kind of mood today, so what better thing to share than what God has put on my heart.
As most of you know, Proverbs is a “how to” manual God so graciously imparted to us. This particular passage, stays away from the figurative language that is so often found in Proverbs and is straight and to the point.
Be kind and truthful. Wear it around your neck, keeping it close, so as to never lose sight of it and you’ll be well thought of.
Trust in the Lord, not your own thoughts and perceptions. Why? Because our hearts are deceitful, clouded by emotion and ever shifting and changing. God is constant, right, just and perfect 100% of the time and never, ever changing.
With everything you say and do, acknowledge God, take it to Him and you can be certain the path He leads you down will be correct and righteous.
Do not think too highly of yourself. Be humble. This is the very definition of “fear the Lord”.
To adhere to these behaviors will bring life, and nourishment to you.
Like I said, pretty direct and to the point. Have a blessed weekend.
